Hi all, not sure if there's an option to do this, or whether it's a feature request. One of our users received a single file request containing over 200 individual files from a client and now he wants to forward these files on to another internal employee without having to select them all or re-download them and re-upload them. This will be a fairly regular occurrence. Is there an option to do this? Thanks.
Hi, it depends how the message was sent. If it was sent with the access restriction: "recipient and local users can access", then this user can just forward the email with the link to another local user who will be able to read it after authentication. If the message was addressed only to that local user, then he would have to download the attachments as a zip file, then re-upload and send to the another local user. Alternatively (faster workaround) could be if the client compose a new message for the another local user then he can click "Select Existing Files" button and pickup the previously uploaded files and then just send the message in few seconds.
Hi David, thanks for the response. I think the problem we are having stems from the fact that we use the "file request" option in liquidfiles to receive files from new customers. (It's a nice and easy way to receive files without any setup steps.) Now what happens is employee (A) sends a "file request" to the customer, so that the customer could send him a collection of files. Now employee (A) has received the files, he needs to forward those files to Employee (B) in another department for processing. (i.e. he's a middle man interacting between the customer and internal staff) As these files haven't been uploaded by employee (A), they don't appear in his uploaded files and has to download them and re-upload them if he wants to forward them on. I was hoping there was a way to forward "file requested" files internally.
Hi Christopher, Yes that's it. But in this case, for next FileRequests from customers, it could help to switch "File Request Permission" to "Only recipients and local users can access" in "Admin > Groups > FileRequest" setting. With this setting when the employee (A) receive files from a customer then he can just take the link of the requested files and forward to the employee (B) which will be able read them as well.
