Justin Horne September 02, 2016 01:23 I second this feature request. This would be great for clients to be able to securely message us in return.
This would certainly help customers. They are confused right now. Having to attach a file to send a message isn't productive and misleading. Please make this a priority for a upcoming release.
Yes! The ability to enable Private Messages for Filedrops was added, but it was left out for User filedrops. This would be valuable if this could also be added for User Filedrops.
For private FileDrops you can allow only the random FileDrop URL, which substitute basically the pin, instead of the URL with the email address so access to that personal FileDrop is possible only for clients who knows the random URL. The email URL can be disabled in "Admin > Groups > Edit > FileDrop > Users in this group have access to User Filedrops with email URLs".
Oops, I think there was a misunderstanding. What we are requesting is the ability to send a "Private Message" via an individual user Filedrop, like you can with the general group Filedrop. Private Message in general Filedrop: User Filedrop (missing Private Message): This will allow users to send confidential information via a Filedrop without requiring to provide that confidential information in an file attached to the Filedrop. If a user accidentally inputs confidential information in the "Message" of the Filedrop, then that information is sent in plain text email to the recipient of the Filedrop.
Any more thoughts on adding this feature? I have many users that would find this very useful. Thanks, -German
