Testing out LiquidFiles under the trial license. When the recipient receives a test email with an attachment, the attachment section shows: "(is being scanned for viruses, please check back in a little while. 0 in queue)." When checking the activity logs, I see the following: "VirusScan Error: while scanning/data/domains/default/files/users/1/20180613_c5oQTlPhmfmIsDE9OvK5S5" System status shows all green for the Network and Connectivity section. The AV signatures and AV signatures update show red status. Tried several different file types/sizes with the same result. Also, rebooted the appliance. Thanks in advance.
In some cases there could be damaged AV signatures or LF server can't download them from the signature servers, and ClamAV does not run properly. At first please make sure your LF appliance have enabled outgoing http/https connections to any destinations on your FW. https://man.liquidfiles.com/system/firewall.html If the FW is configured as recommended above, then please open the LF orange/grey console and run "ft av_update", this will re-download and re-build all AV stuff from scratch. During ft av_update, please select to remove existing av signatures. When done try to upload a file on the Compose message page. If the file will be uploaded and scanned then ClamAV is running fine. In demo appliances is not enabled access to the console so in case the ClamAV was still not running you would need to reboot whole VM. In the end please run "ft avscan_all_files" to rescan the missing files. This procedure can takes a while.
Sorry for the delayed response. Reinstalling the ClamAV, along with signatures, seemed to do the trick. Thanks for your assistance.
I just hit a clam AV Error as well... uninstalled and reinstalled and still not starting or running the clam av service... yum remove clamav* yum install clamav* ft av_update yes to remove existing yes to restart - then get error about clamav service not starting same as before just doing update only. currently just had to allow getting files without scan to keep things moving. odd status shows its running now... and appears to be working.. currently running full scan just to be sure.
Same issue here. Updating av_update in the console with Removing previous signatures and force restart does not work. Getting error: Job for clamdservice failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status clamd.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. After reboot server still VirusScan Error..
If you haven't yet updated to LiquidFiles v3.2.12, you will need to do so to fix this issue. You can update in the web interface by going to Admin → System → Update or by logging in on the console and running the command `ft update`. In a recent ClamAV update, the RedHat/CentOS team decided to move the ClamAV configuration file and the new system default configuration file is not compatible with LiquidFiles. For security reasons, LiquidFiles automatically updates ClamAV as part of the nightly maintenance, and this update is what caused this issue. Updating to LiquidFiles v3.2.12 uses the new ClamAV default configuration location and will make the system fully functional again.
Just a warning, if you manually start installing and uninstalling packages, you're on your own. Try updating to the latest release but if that doesn't work, reinstall LiquidFiles, update to v3.2.12 and copy the files over: https://man.liquidfiles.com/install/move_server.html
appears it auto updated while I was trying to figure it out and it started working normally at some point between Wed / Thurs... so on current version and see that it updated from .11 > .12 only via the status email daily. would be nice if it notified that an update had been performed via email, but currently running so I guess its all good.. wouldn't have done the package if someone above hadn't mention that worked for them..... Per-above - will not do that again!
