According to the Release Notes for 3.6.x:

“Security — Readded (short-lived) Secure Token as External User Authentication method in addition to Temporary Users. In LiquidFiles v3.6 you can now choose which method to use.”

How do we choose which method to use? It appears the default is to use Secure Tokens but where is that set at?

I discovered how to do this. From Configuration --> Settings, on the External Users tab, click "Temporary Users" and ten click Save.

One further question I had in this regard was about the setting "Pre-Deliver Temporary User Account Emails when a Secure Message is sent." We do not see it in v3.6. We typically checked that "off". Please advise

The checkbox "Pre-Deliver Temporary User Account Emails when a Secure Message is sent" has been removed from v3.6.
When "Temporary user" authentication method is enabled then the temporary account email is sent automatically wit the email with the Secure message link.
But you can list domains which you need to exclude from the pre-delivery in the "Pre-Deliver Excludes" box.

We have found that using Secure Token for external users with registration disabled gives us the security and UI experience our user's are familiar with.

    Thank you
