I have created a User Guide for the filetransfer appliance and would like to see a option that displays a link on the user page to this file, that would be hosted on the appliance. Seems pretty simple. Would you guys be willing to do something like this? THANKS!
Comments Johan Allard LiquidFiles Hi Stephen, it sounds like the real solution would be to have a generic template system for the pages. This is something that definitely will happen. Email templates will actually happen already in 1.6. That way you could customize any page to include any content that you'd like. Is that what you mean? Cheers Johan April 3, 2011, 13:17 Stephen White Hi Johan - Email templates will certainly be great but what I'm talking about here is a link that would be on the user login page. Also, the appliance would need to host this content indefinitely. April 7, 2011, 12:12 Johan Allard LiquidFiles Well, we have to start somewhere. And there has been a lot more requests to customize emails than it has been to customize the pages so that's why that happens first. To build a proper template system would require a lot more stuff, including the abilitity to upload and store static resources for header images, javascript libraries and a user guide would fall into this category as well. It is a planned feature but no actual work has been done to date. April 7, 2011, 14:35 Stephen White Hi Johan - Latest updates look good, thanks!! Is this idea still planned for a future release? July 6, 2011, 04:39 Johan Allard LiquidFiles Thank you, and yes, a lot of work went into the latest release. And yes again, at some point I'm sure we'll add a proper template system for the rest of the pages as well July 6, 2011, 06:27 Johan Allard LiquidFiles This can now be done with the new footer configuration settings, possibly combined with the ability to upload assets. You could create a pdf manual if you want, and link to that from the footer, as an example. October 22, 2012, 18:42
